ANG PAGLALAKBAY NI TAO (The Odessey Of Tao)
Synopsis

Ang Paglalakbay ni Tao begins with TAO’s birth. From the very moment that TAO is born, he is struggling with life. The KORO (Chorus) and the DIREKTOR (Teacher) comes in and begins TAO’s story. They remind everyone that TAO should never forget about death even as he embraces life through the progressing of time.

Time passes. TAO matures and is embraced and embraces sin. He meets and mingles with TAMAD (Sloth), INGGIT (Envy), SABIK(Lust), SAKIM (Greed) , MASIBA (Gluttony), MATAYOG (Pride), and GALIT(Anger). He forgets about death.

KAMATAYAN suddenly appears and summons TAO. TAO becomes frightened. He hesitates. He begs. He bargains. KAMATAYAN (Death) gives TAO time. KAMATAYAN (Death) disappears leaving TAO to contemplate his fate.

The BATANG PROPESOR (Young Professor which represents the New Testament) and the MATANDANG PROPESOR (Old Professor which represents the Old Testament) come in with the KORO and launches on a discourse about TAO’s fate. They go into a dispute discussing what TAO will do now that he is facing death. Everyone awaits TAO’s move.

TAO begins to think and decides to look for someone to accompany him in his journey towards death. PAKIKISAMA (Friendship) appears but they refuse TAO’s invitation after learning where TAO is headed. KAPATID (Sibblings) and KAMAG-ANAK (Relatives) appears. TAO implores them to accompany him but they also refuse.

Amidst pomp and delight, KAYAMANAN (Wealth) appears and TAO forgets his circumstance. TAMAD (Sloth), INGGIT (Envy) , SABIK (Lust), SAKIM (Greed) , MASIBA (Gluttony), MATAYOG (Pride), and GALIT (Anger) join KAMATAYAN (Death) and TAO. TAO loses himself in the revelry until he sees KAMATAYAN (Death). He stops. KAYAMANAN (Wealth) together with TAMAD (Sloth), INGGIT (Envy), SABIK (Lust), SAKIM (Greed), MASIBA (Gluttony), MATAYOG (Pride), and GALIT (Anger) mock TAO as they leave him. TAO is left alone in despair.

The BATANG PROPESOR (Young Professor) and the MATANDANG PROPESOR (Old Professor) come in with the KORO (Chorus) once again. They observe TAO. Their discourse continues with a discussion on who will accompany TAO on his journey no that it seems that everyone has turned their backs on him.

PAG-IBIG appears and the KORO sings a song about love. PAG-IBIG (Love) raises TAO up and gently dances with him. TAO finds relief with PAG-IBIG (Love).

The BATANG PROPESOR (Young Professor) and the MATANDANG PROPESOR (Old Professor) together with the KORO (Chorus) begin to argue about Christianity and how it will affect TAO’s redemption. As they discuss, PAG-IBIG (Love) accompanies TAO on the latter’s journey. PAG-IBIG (Love) leads TAO to PAGSISISI (Repentance). As TAO confesses, PAG-IBIG (Love) turns to the BATANG PROPESOR (Young Professor) and MATANDANG PROPESOR (Old Professor) who are still in the midst of their interchange and arguments about the ways to get to heaven, and tells them that love is the simple answer to their questions.

KAGANDAHAN (Beauty) , KALAKASAN (Strength) and PAKIRAMDAM (Feeling) appear and together with PAG-IBIG (Love), they accompany TAO to the final leg of his journey. Everyone watches TAO.

Blinding light appears as TAO approaches his final destination. He moves forward, ready to face judgment and the Almighty.
